Using Video to Share the Gospel on the Internet

Allen just posted a great article on the More Good Foundation’s blog about using video to share the gospel on the Internet. He said, “Many people think that videos, in order to be effective, need to be very polished or take a lot of time. In browsing through some of the online video services, I’ve run across some good amateur examples of using video to help spread the word.” He then gives references to several.

Worth checking out.

    Hello,
This comment will have nothing to do with the linked Blog, but the Church website response said to pose my question to you so I will simply cut and paste my e-mail in here below. (Please with your response, will you please email me as well?) Thank you.
Here is my email to the Church website:

Hey I was just wondering if the Church was planning on making a “mobile” version of the website. Meaning, one that is easily viewed by PocketPC/Phones and SmartPhones. i.e. ones obtained from Verizon, Cingular/AT&T, T?Mobile, etc. If you are not familiar with what I am talking about, let me know and I will try to explain further. However, these devices are connected to the internet through the mobile web and individuals cell service, and they have versions of Internet Explorer, however, they do not have any type of Java capabilities thus making the new version very difficult to navigate.I could navigate the old site with my mobile PDA (Treo 700W), I just had to scroll back and forth to look at the entire site. In fact while I was on the road for business, I was able to stream General Conference while driving, from the website. However, I will not be able to do that with the new menu features.Perhaps the mibile version of the site would have the address http://www.mobile.!
lds.org or http://www.lds.org/mobile That is the general format for websites that also offer mobile versions.Perhaps the mobile version would just have a mobile friendly (made for small screen) set of menu options with access to the Gospel Library, 1st Presidency Message, links to streaming audio scriptures, streaming General Conference, etc. (streaming multi?media would have to be Windows Media Player compatible)Just some suggestions, you guys are the experts in this arena, I just know this area from what I have used. Let me know if I have made clear what I am thinking, or if you want me to explain what I mean by “mobile version of the site” and other things I have said. Thanks for listening.Anthony Porath

    Thanks for reading!
